Man I saw a pic of the 176 station on Jerome with the water up to a cars window, and Tony's on the city island pier burned up. Heard there was a coned plant explosion too.   I'm in San Diego but I'm from NYC

Ohio closes school with an inch of snow...lol

Where in Ohio are you? In Cleveland when I was in gradeschool, we closed for nothing. 18 inches of snow? Go wait at the bus stop, kid, its lake effect, deal with it. Bomb threat? Everyone stay in class. Cleveland don't care :P now I'm in Columbus, they still leave it open through most bad weather.

But then, I am from the south, we rarely even close the public schools for a category 1 anymore.

Im in north LA. We close schools if you even mention "snow" or "huricane-like winds."
Snow is a completely different animal, couple inches just about shuts the state down, where are you located? I am in laffy.

Strange twist of events, I may be headed up as an NCO with hurricane experience to help the guard units responding in the area. Will only be the sec

Colorado. People will still go to school with 2-3 inches, as long as the roads are clear
Yes indeed we do, our weather is ridiculous

My school district is stupid. My sister (she's in elementary) gets off because one of the other 10 elemantary schools had a power outage for an hour.

Here in CO its like "oh, two feet of snow.. Have fun at school" and everyone including myself would be wearing shorts at school that day

Marietta, huh? ;) my brother went to college there, now he works there and lives just over the river in WV. Seems like a nice town, but yeah, you guys don't get lake effect from Erie down there lol

hope you didn't get too much bad weather from sandy! I hear the snow stuck down there

I live on Long Island in New York and I still have no power. Just got called into school to clean up anything that is broken or ruined. Brooklyn was hit bad. There are trees still on power lines here. I can't imagine what jersey shore is like and Staten Island. I know my area was hit bad.
