Interesting, I don't know why. I'd expect a return when we get more red with Gruul and Boros. {Mizzium Mortars} may have something to do with it (which is printed at Rare, unlikely to ever command that high price).

Could have to do with more of them being traded for new Return to Ravnica cards, and Vendors not being able to get out from under them quickly enough, or what I believe is the true reason: It's not blue.

I think it's gone done because it's not as useful as it was pre-rotation. Bonfire is limited as to what it can take out by how much mana you have. For more aggressive decks running red its perfectly fine to rely on top decking one every once in a while, but you don't really want to see one in your opening hand. Fr control decks, supreme verdict is perfectly acceptable, and terminus is a lot better in certain situations, like against zombies. There's no real need to splash red for bonfire in any deck running white, and probably not in a control build with blue. I think that overloading a cyclonic rift could also be more useful than bonfire in certain situations.

Basically, bonfire is still a great card, but there are better options now for some of the more popular decks. As a result there is less demand, the supply is still increasing because of packs being opened, therefore price must decrease in order to reach equilibrium.

True, I never expected it to last at $50 buy I still have 2 deff gunna hang on to tho

Glad I did trade 1 for a traft and a snap when I did tho!

I want some for a {Goblin electromancer} + {Arcane melee} deck im building ;D
Seems to be the right time to pick some up?

Checked stg it's 30 flat. Still glad I traded the cards for them when I did. The card is still relevant and will still when games. I think it was a 45$ card when I traded for mine.

swallowtail

Got a pair on eBay today for $25 each... :)

Ace

I preordered a playset at 15 dollars per. Then sold them for 50 dollars a pop. 60 dollars to 200 sounds good to me. But yes I am not suprised at it falling so much. It just is not as versatile as it was a few months ago with scars. I think it will fall Down to about 25 dollars and will stay there for a long time...it may go back up to around 35 or 40 when gate crash but I think it will stay at a heathy 25 probably even past rotation next year. It is a pretty big staple is this block.

I still use the card, using it against a {geralfs messenger}, {gravecrawler}, and a {lotleth troll} isn't the greatest...but i agree with what's been said, you just want something else. I had no idea it was going to drop that much.

You guys actually thought it was a $60 card?

It represented the best card in standard, was printed at mythic rare and actually stopped Delver decks. Yes, it was a $60 card.

Now whatever card hoses {Thragtusk} will be the next booming card, as long as its printed at mythic rarity.

Double-O-Scotch

{Bonds of faith} deals with thragtusk well enough...

With a life gainer dominant card such as {Thragtusk}, bonfire is a smaller threat (goes for all burn really). Yes one card is dominating standard, look at reanimator, GW, jund, midrange, almost all of them have Thragtusk and yes 5 life is a huge deal. I've played against a deck that put one into play 3 turns in a row. Suddenly bonfire for 6-9 loses its appeal when a 3/3 token takes its place and another will end up getting put back onto the battlefield.

I dunno, I always thought it wasn't in the same catagory as  {Tarmogoyf} or  {Snapcaster Mage}.

Especially when taken into account other formats.

Tarmogoyf sat at 5$ for a long time. It really didn't see much play until its use in modern and legacy popped up.

{Jace, the Mind Sculptor} was $100 when it was standard legal. {Bonfire of the Damned} quickly and efficiently took care of an entire deck (Delver), bypassing Hexproof ({Geist of Saint Traft}), and won games. It is even splashible, and mostly any deck that can run it, does. There is a lot to be said about its rarity as well.

{Thragtusk} is one of the reasons people can't stand Standard. If you go to a tournament and walk the aisle, you'll see 7 games simultaneously drop a {Thragtusk}.

I love playing green but utterly despise  {Thragtusk} 3 of 4 matches last FNM had that infernal frigging card. Ugh!!!
