I may be a complete idiot, but i just can't see what {Jace, architect of thought} is good at...

He's good against aggro strategies with his -1 ability and he provides card advantage, he doesn't usually stay around long enough to use his ultimate but hit other abilities provide help to control strategies

His -2 is so rediculously good in CA right now, he hits the board and you draw three, not only does your opponent have to answer him next turn or you are gonna draw three again, or you have pretty much won the game by drawing 7 cards within two turns

And in this meta, CA is crucial

He's really not that awesome. His price is plummeting, because he doesn't really do that much. Nobody I talked to uses his +1. They use him for card advantage, but even then he isn't amazing, he's often pairs with {Tamiyo, the Moon Sage}.

But at 4CMC, you can play {Inspiration} if you wanna gain card advantage. It's the card selection that makes {Jace, Architect of Thought} playable. Even then, I'm not sold on it.

I agree with CA being crucial, but i'm not sure Jace's worth that many bucks...

I'm almost a noob, but to tell you the truth, i prefere {Vraska, the Unseen}.

He won't be. {Liliana of the Veil} was almost $70 when Innistrad came out. So much Return to Ravnica has been printed, and so much product has been opened, it's destined to drop. My LGS has 25% off singles because so many people are opening product and selling it back. I'm surprised shock land are still going for so much.

If you don't run him than its hard to see his value. I play him in my Grixis control deck and he is amazing. I run 8 walkers and they all help protect each other. Being able to dig that far into your deck is amazing. All of the bant decks run him and its awesome being able to get to your next game winning spell that much faster.

I run 4 in my UW Control and he is the hardest worker in the deck. He just wins games. I also run 2 Tamiyo. Jace is for sure star of the deck though. Ive come in first at my fnm the last 4 in a row. Only lost 1 match-up in 4 weeks against GW and beat him in the top 4. Jace is the reason.

Against G/W (my deck), Turn 4 your opponent has a 4/4 and a 2/1 ready to swing at you. Instead they come at Jace after his +1 and it does not kill him. That just saved you 6+ life, gained you two turns and with Tamiyo Coming out next turn, Jace and she can survive the next turn and draw you 3+ cards. It could go worse but you should have some counters early and board wipes late to stabilize.
