Day, Yeva, and Thragtusk question

Question about a scenario.  Opponent plays {Day of Judgement}.  I cast {Yeva, Nature's Herald} in response.  Do I still have the chance to cast {Thragtusk} before Day resolves?  I would think so, but I want to make certain.  Thanks.

9 is better than 3. Play both of your creatures after their  {Day of Judgment} resolves.

Maybe there is something out there where when creature dies you lose x life and he is useing it for the 5 life.
