I was wondering how much my legacy deck I'm making was costing and I did the math using average price it's running $450 and its not done I still need onslaught fetches and revised duals 😓 this is craziness. Why is legacy so expensive ?!?

You can always play homebrew stuff. Certain decks are good without the $$$ cards, and become even better with them. You can play my exact $1000 legacy deck without the $400 {Tundras}, 4 {Flooded Strand}, 4 {Mutavault} and 4 {Force of Will}. Will it run great? Heck yeah! Will it run like $1000? Unfortunately no.

Magic has a 20 year history, and mostly all the $$ cards have an alternative (albeit weaker) version. I wouldn't let the cost prohibit you from the format, it's lots of fun with tons of decks.

{Knight of the Reliquary} is a primary piece of the Maverick deck. He's super useful and unbelievably necessary to stop {Emrakul, the Aeons Torn} shenanigans by fetching {Karakas} (another expensive card).

Let's be honest, it's worth it at $8 or $9 (2 printings so far. Plenty of standard cards cost more.

U can do a decent elves deck for cheap but if u want a good one u will need the money cards or the elf deck.
