I would've figured the collectors would've loved having alternate art. They go ape for alternate art comic covers. Ithknk Its usually players that are so concerned with similarity on different cards, even though they could just play one with all the same art.

Speakig of, I heard the pros will play with all the same art basic lands, so if they get {Gitaxian probed} or {duress}ed  or whatever it's more difficult for their opponent to figure out what they have afterwards.

Four crappy alt arts on crappy commons an uncommon was what you ended up with at the end.

To some LGS owner - "Do you have that one art for the {Homarid}?  You know, the one that looks like a lobster?  No, not that one the OTHER one that look like a lobster?  No, that's the one that looks like a crab?  Look, I'm trying to collect all the different arts for Fallen Empires.  I've got all four {Combat Medic}s, all four {Icatian Infantry}... blah blah blah..."

In a set with 102 cards, you end up with ~250 UNIQUE cards, many redundant and worth mere cents.

It's a novel idea, but really not worth it.

I agree fallen empires AND homelands were horrible but nothing made more magic players quit than those stoopit beebles. Tough call but no set was worse than those stoopit beebles.

Has to be alpha. I mean you cannot even use those cards in your decks.

Are you referring to {Bouncing Beebles} or the flavor text on {Bursting Beebles}?

The worst pack I ever bought was a few months ago. I saw these old packs at a hole in the wall nerd store and figured "who knows, I'll probably get something vintage and super valuable!" The pack was horrible and the rare, a {savage firecat} was the icing on the crapcake. I'd never heard of Odyssey but now I think I didn't miss much by missing that block. Why do you guys all hate homelands so much? I started in Lorwyn and have no concept of anything before the first Mirrodin block.

Dude, I love Odyssey, {Werebear} and {Wild Mongrel} =D
