So what exactly is "reserved list" people keep talking about? I should probably know what it is but honestly I don't. I know it is a list of old cards, but why? What is this list used for?

But they do make money from the people who don't rage quit because they keep them out of the core sets.

And also what would happen if they put them in the core sets? All other lands become obsolete. They reprinted shock lands. THAT'S A BIG DEAL, and the closest we will get to OP originals.

If they were in core sets, originality and creativity would be hampered. Nobody could ever say "I lost because I didn't have the right mana..." The right mana would always be there. And where's the fun in that? Might as well just have all your lands be city of brass without the drawback.
