Silly archeomancer

{archeomancer}, {gilded lotus}, and {ghostly flicker}.

Silly interaction for infinite blocking and spell casting. Fortunately {ghostly flicker} makes it to the graveyard before {archeomancer} goes searching for a spell.

With excess mana thing get out of control, i copied a {thragtusk} with a {phyrexian metamorph} when i discovered this.

But {Ghostly flicker} costs 3 mana? Where is the excess coming from?
Or what is the deal with this combo?
Edit: also you cant block infinitly with this.
Once you declare blockers you cant declare more. So saying Archaeo blocks then flickering and saying it blocks again would either block only one creature or take archaeo out of harms way depending on when you flicker.

So the lotus taps for three mana...and ghostly costs three...and the lotus enters untapped...so does that make sense now?

This isnt a net mana combo, it's a infinite casting loop.

And yes, archeomancer can only block one creature per combat...for an infinite number of turns.

I used whatever extra mana i had to flick my metamorph and have it copy the beast.

Each casting of ghostly would have to resolve before casting it again. You could only use your flutterstorm once.
