A deck builder's toolkit. Most common stores sell them. It's like a fat pack for beginners. A great way to start.

Also event decks are great.

Lol mana burn (smokes on corn cob pipe) back in my day you had to cast spells extally or you took the burn but now a days you kids have all you new fangaled mana producers and tokens that sack for mana why all we had was birds and lanawars or a finhore if you were lucky you kids th.....(falls asleep).

But for real you should just buy a duel deck that way it's fair for you guys to play and he gets some good cards.
