The thing I don't get if this was real is why wouldn't WotC say they did it.
If they come out and publicly say "There are cards X, Y, and Z in boosters" it becomes less of a "magical moment" and just common-uncommon-rare-mythic rare-über rare. And that's just not as sexy.

Treasure is more fun when it's hinted at and not spelled out.

I know. I'm part zombie. Just didn't see it going much further. Again I hope it's true I have an unopened zen box. I could really use a p9 or dual land they were saying people pulled. This is just one of those thing I cannot believe in. Trust me I have my own urban legends or conspiracy theory's I believe in. I just didn't want this to get into a negative point counter point. Was a good talk though.

{Ancestral Recall} is an insane find. If you have one, Wizards should do a DailyMTG article on you...how many could they have possibly put into boosters?

You put a lot of faith in a cooperation.

Oh for sure. Just hope the barcode has an "A" on the end. If so, you might find some hidden treasure. I opened 7 or 8 boxes, got nothing in treasure regards, but I sure made out like a fat cat with money rares and foil lands. I don't think WOTC will ever confirm or deny it. Sticking with the flavor of the set. Adds mystique.

Would ZEN alpha/beta cards be worth more than original since they are so rare?

I imagine they're not printed in modern frames or have a Zendikar set symbol. They're the actual cards from those sets. Worth the same as the regular ones.

Rumor is they are old cards put in the set.

Not even close. The treasures were already printed and old and played. Rumor has it WOTC bought a bunch from starcity to help with the ploy. But frankly, how could you sell an alpha card that already was an alpha card for more just because it was found in a ZEN booster? not even possible. And more over, why would you pay more just because some lucky person pulled it in a pack 16+ years after it was printed. No you sense make

Wow. Think I might need to buy some Zendikar packs

Ok ok, no don't be buying zen packs just for this reason. The chances of still finding the first print run are VERY slim. More over, trying to get a treasure is even slimmer.

Ok ok, let's see, it's a *gasp* {Lorthos, the tidemaker}? WTF!

My final comment will be this:

It's not faith in WotC (although I do respect them as a company). I think it more believable that this is a publicity stunt. The alternative is a coordinated international conspiracy run and maintained over a number of years by multiple parties (OP included) for no real benefit to themselves.

It would be orders of magnitude easier for WotC to just slip in some cards and let the community do the work than to fake the whole deal from multiple places on prerelease day and continue to perpetuate the myth.

It's not as though it costs them $3000 to print a {Black Lotus}, it's the same process as any other card.

Just sayin'

Rass

See all I was saying is someone may have gotten a card from a wrong set and it snowballed down a mountain to this like several other urban legends. One person finds a needle in a Pepsi can then twenty more fake that they did. Or that if you go to a bar meet some hot girl and kick it off. Then you wake up in a tub of ice to a phone call that your liver is missing.
