If u fling ur commander at some1 in edh, does it count as commander damage?

Only Combat damage counts, as I've come to find out. Therefore no.

Besides, {Fling} does the damage, not the general, no?

Not sure about "only combat damage," I thought it was any damage dealt by the commander.

But moot anyway, because you are correct about fling dealing the damage, not the creature it sacrifices.

Where are those gavel-happy resolvers when you need em?

It's not just combat damage I have a buddy that uses karoveck or what ever his name is the creature that allows you to direct damage = to a cast spells cmc to a creature or player and that counts as commander damage as I've been told

903.14a A player that's been dealt 21 or more combat damage by the same commander over the course of the game loses the game. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)

What about {Fling}ing a {Kiln Fiend} does it get the buff before fling resolves so you fling it for 4 or whatever?

no because you sacrfice as a cost. the kiln fiend isn't around to buff himself bu then.
