Old forum user here who forgot his password, not sure if anyone I knew was here but I have a rulings question

If I -3 {Narset Transcendent} on say a {Dig Through Time}, then I -3 {Jace, Telepath Unbound} on that same Dig, will it still rebound even if it prematurely went into exile?

Thanks

Jace -3's on a card in the graveyard, while rebound exiles it as it resolves. Until after you cast it in your next upkeep, the card will not be in the graveyard to target.
That said, if an enemy processor rips your exiled card into the graveyard, you will not be able to cast it, since the rebound effect looks for the spell in exile, where it no longer is.

EDIT: sidenote, what was your previous username? Just curious.

PhoneticLand

Oh my gosh of course it exiles at it resolves and I missed that part lol! Thanks

And my previous forum name was most likely DLion something. I remember noblellama and taysby

NP.
I did notice I worded my answer on the rebound a bit poorly. Rebound doesn't as much look for the spell in exile and then looses track of it, but the ability specifically lets you cast it from exile. If it's not in exile, you can't cast it.

702.87a: Rebound appears on some instants and sorceries. It represents a static ability that functions while the spell is on the stack and may create a delayed triggered ability. "Rebound" means "If this spell was cast from your hand, instead of putting it into your graveyard as it resolves, exile it and, at the beginning of your next upkeep, you may cast this card from exile without paying its mana cost."

All that said: welcome back!

I accidently ran into these forums on the Internet while looking for rulings. I had left due to the old Piotr vs Everyone trial and also getting a Samsung instead of Iphone

Nice to know you're still around Llama

There was a debacle though that caused a forum split. Not trying to cause trouble, just explaining around what time I was here

Piotr

Merely a splinter, not worth calling this a split ;)
