So I went to 2HG prerelease with my mother. My dad and family friend went, as well as a pair of family friends.

We get there, early. I went red and my mom went white. I realize I forgot my mat. But hey.

Seeded rare? {Exsguisite Firecraft}. My rares are,

{Mizzium Meddler}
{Nissa's Revelation}
2x {Kothophed, Soul Hoarder}
{Sword of the Animist}

Mom got,

Seeded rare that Thalia ripoff thing.

{Mizzium Meddler}
{Displacement Wave}
{Infinte Obliteration}
{Orb of Warding}
{Exguisite Firecraft}

We got four {Clastrophobia}s. Four. Three {Sepratist Voidmage}s. {Clash of Will}, {Calculated Dismisal}. Blue was in, and I almost made both the decks run blue. We had that much value.

Black had two rare bombs. Two {Unholy Hunger}s. Support cards. It was in.

White had crap besides two {Celestial Flare} and three {Supression Bonds}. That's it. No go.

Red had burn, {Acolyte of the Inferno} x3, that 2/1 that drops a 1/1 thopter x5.

I saw a red aggro deck supported by U/B control. I thought it looked great. Cuts were hard when I thought I had 30 minutes and my mom started freaking out. Turns out we had an hour. Went smoothly when we learned that.

First game mom stuck a thopter with a {Sword of the Animist}. I had a mittful of spot removal and kept them off the board. A {Languish} almost brought them back into the game, but a {Rouge's Passage} with a {Cobblebrute} and some burn finished it up.

Next game mom didn't draw mana, my {Kothophed, Soul Hoarder's} got wrecked and I didn't draw what I needed. They has /three/ {Flame Conjuring} and the {Fleshbag Marauder}s and a pack Liliana drove it home. There's also that enchantment... Can't recall the name. Black, uncommon, whenever creature dies scry. Pay 5 drain opponents for 2 gain 2. It really wrecked us. I felt like we got outclassed by their decks.

Last game was a bit of a nail biter. All the decks ran well, but after draining 8+ life the card advantage and damage if {Kothophed, Soul Hoarder} assisted by a {Rouge's Passage} {Coobkebrute} broke the stalemate and drove it home. I talked to the guys after we played and they, as well as we, pulled 0 mythics. 0. No mythics, 90% junk rares, and I still went 2-1? Not bad. But where did the mythics go? Not my four prize packs. Which were,

Another {Kothophed, Soul Hoarder} that I traded for a Mommy and Daddy Chandra.

{Soulblade Dijn} {Dark Petetion} and {Gaea's Revenge}. I also got a {Sphinx's Tutelage} which is going into my {Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind} EDH deck.

So the mythics? Dad pulled a Liliana. My other friends? Pulled TWO NISSAS. TWO. Niether were promo. And? A Chandra. Like. Seriously? At least I traded a {Sphinx's Revelation} off one for some infect and goblin swag as well as two PLAs.

Oldschoolmtgnoob

I seeded black and got a {gilt-leaf winnower}. Only other mentionable was {honored heirarch} and everything else was bunk. No synergy, no trumps, nothing even exciting to get out. I struggled to make a 40 card deck, even with having to go three colors ({B}{G}{W})to make it. I was able to get heirarch out T1 like 5 times and he renowned every time, so he did work. The winnower was able to strike a few times and the menace really helped win a few. My favorite moment was when I attacked with all my 6-7 creatures out against his 6-7, one of my included a {yolked ox}. To which he asked, "you're attacking with the ox?" I say "yeah I don't care, I'm dead next turn." Doesn't call the bluff, let's it through, so I was able to pump him with that +1/+1 for each creature card for the W.

It was an ok prerelease, I just wish I got one exciting card
