{bonfire of the damned}!!!  The best red board wipe ever!

Not exactly cheap card cost :P

Hmm... Standard only, huh? Act, mutilate...bonfire if you can afford it...tide is not bad either. I think those are your only real options. The best wipes in standard are white.
Best wipe in standard is bonfire..which is red.

smokin terry

{Slagstorm} is good in my opinion.

Been looking around for some as well for a Burning Vengeance deck.

Anyways, in red you have {Whipflare}, {Slagstorm}, {Rolling Temblor}, {Blasphemous Act}, and {Bonfire of the Damned}. There are also atleast two single target fireball X spells if you want to take out the opponent soon or sink all the mana on a big creature. Then there is {Chandra's Fury} on the more expensive end; otherwise you are stuck with cheap (but relatively lackluster burn spells like {Pillar of Flames}).

Blue is primarily bounce, with the biggest being {Devestation Tide}. Most others are bounce one or two creatures. Then again, Blue is the most controlling colour and would be better off focused on Draw and Counter.

Black has mostly single target removal; only {Life's Finale} and {Black Sun Zenith} are reliable at board wipe. {Killing Wave} is not as effective but can get the job done, though it is another X spell to consider. {Mutilate} is nice... if your base is mostly swamps; in a Grixis coloured deck, its quite hard. Though a couple split of {Doom Blade}, {Go for the Throat}, {Murder}, and {Geth's Verdict}/{Tribute to Hunger} could work. Getting double black shouldn't be too hard.

I was thinking about just leaving in the Finale's and removing the Zeniths for Blasphemous Acts.  So far, Finale has proved very beneficial against a green ramp deck.  Knocked out {Wolfir Silverheart} paired with {Dungrove Elder} and a {Craterhoof Behemoth} and taking out all the mana dorks leaving him with 4-5 forests.  Then I could use Finale's other effect and take out more mana dorks or fatties.

tl;dr I like {Life's Finale}

And {Blasphemous Act} looks to be a very effective way to knock out the opponents field.  Especially since I get mana very quickly with 4 {Gem of Becoming}s and a couple {Manalith}s (doesn't sound like much, but trust me, it works)

Oh and {Ratchet Bomb} is another wipe, kind of.

Anyways, Life's Finale sounds amazing.
Hmm, maybe I should consider a couple of {Gem of Becoming} for securing mana base. Although may be different between a dedicated control and BV-based deck, but how many board wipes to spot removal would you feel most comfortable running?

Right now, I'm looking to run 2 Finale's and 2 Acts.  Maybe 2 Devastation tides.  Not sure how I feel about them yet.
