Sac the Redcap to Seer, Merlia gets rid of Persist's -1/-1. Do it infinite times :)

Before {Birthing Pod} got banned, this was one of the most common versions of Pod in Modern. It's an extremely well known combo.

Balefire Hellkite

I know; but I thought I'd post it for the newer players who aren't familiar with the magic of Pod :)

LinkCelestrial

The magic of a card that's now banned. I played pod at least half a dozen time and never saw that combo go off.

Brawler_1337

I tend to go with {Mikaeus, the Unhallowed} + {Wickerbough Elder} or any persist dude for my shenanigans.

Mikeaus grants undying, not persist

He knows. It creates a loop of which trigger you want

You don't get to choose which trigger. he comes back wit the +1/+1, and then has the -1/-1 placed on him which will cancel the other out. you can't activate his naturalize ability as many times as you want, you just have an infinite creature loop
We'll both can't trigger. Only one. Because yes it's dying but whether or not it persists or undies is different.

{Wickerbough Elder} doesn't have Persist.

Correct, but it enters with a -1/-1 counter...as it says on the card. so when it's brought back with the +1/+1 from undying, it then gets a negative counter...which cancels out the positive one...leaving no counters I'm the creature allowing a loop to occur if he keeps dying.

I'm pretty sure both counters stay on. The value cancels out, but it is still considered to have both on it.

This is incorrect.

+1/+1 and -1/-1 counters cancel each other out, leaving the net balance of counters.

Please see rule 121.3 for reference.

Holy shitzu...I totally have a memory of reading a rule that says they stay on....I invent memories a lot, I think. Thanks for correcting my dumbassery

Sure, but he can't use his ability (since he doesn't have a counter to remove).

It can create an infinite sac outlet though. Let's say we have  {Soul Warden} and this card that let's you sac a creature for a pt bonus (whatsername vampire). Hello infinite lives and huge creature.
