Sad to see pod go. But realistically it had too. Here's what I'm playing while I build something else...

Agrus Kos, Enforcer of Truth

I think {Wall of Roots} is better than {Rattleclaw Mystic} if you are playing 4 Chords. You may be on to something with the {Congregation at Dawn} though.

Good call. The Mystics have always been a Noble placeholder for somewhat obvious reasons.

Though  {Whisperer of the Wilds} might be better if only for the possible Ferocious.

Honestly I should probably just put in  {Llanowar Elves}...

That would mean playing 8 birds...

I agree pod is dead. But in the interim I'm gonna run this build and see how it goes. I disagree on  {Congregation at Dawn}. Pod was usually a 3-drop T2/T3. With a sac into a creature T3/T4.

Dawn can mimic that T2/T3 by top decking up to 3 threats at opponents end step. Worst case I get the creature I want next turn. Best case I get that for 3 turns.

However it does make me weaker to hand disruption and counters... But I can't expect much else: Pod was a uniquely awesome card.

As for the dorks: I'm focused on having enough mana to chord anything in the early game. Worst case the dorks get buffed by gavony to be reasonable threats/blockers.

I'll post how it goes...

In the meantime: I'll take suggestions on a new modern deck to run that isn't red or TRON.

So far this has gone pretty well. It's not as explosive as Pod was. But the same combo engine exists and can be pulled off in 2-3 turns once I hit a congregation or a chord.
