Hope this means more then Standard promos will be handed out now. Some Legacy stuff, Modern and oh yeah...EDH.

There are tons of EDH staples that don't have foil versions yet (like the new art {Propaganda}, {Bane of Progress}, ect. for example) that would be perfect for as an FNM promo

More foil promos for everyone.

Wizards has paid for lots of artwork for cards in Commander Product and Duel Deck series. Occasionally they double dip for ({Swords to Plowshares} in Elspeth vs. Tezzeret then made shiny in From the Vault: Twenty).

They passed some of the commanders through the Judge Foil (Oloro, Nekusar, ect.) It would be a good chance to double dip on some of that new art they commissioned. They don't even have to print money promos, {Nature's Lore} (Garruk vs. Liliana art, no foil available in any version), alt art {Wear//Tear} (sees legacy and modern play) or something like {Toxic Deluge} (Commander and Legacy play).

what format is star? i saw an expanded version of that picture and one of the formats was "create your own". so crazy.

I think star is the format where each person sits at one of the 5 points of the star, like on the back of a magic card. Winner is the person who can eliminate the two "enemy" colors first.

Yes yes, this is going to be awesome, we could use lots of more affordable commanser foils alt art {Beast Within} comes to mind as one they can double dip on
