Right! That's fine, but is more of a casual kind if play. Modern is usually assumed to be more competitive, so maybe it would be better to just stick to casual. Nothing wrong with that.

That sucks. It seems that none of my decks are very good...

I guess I should expect this kind of thing, seeing as I'm actually not that competitive when it comes to Magic. I just love the game, not winning.

First off it takes time and a decent amount of cards to make a good deck. Also playing and seeing the interaction of the cards help.

My best suggestion is to focus on one deck. This way you can learns the ins and outs of it.

You should also find a deck or play style you like and build a deck from there. You can also find lists online of decks and build them from cards you have. Then you can replace expensive card with proxies or ther cards. For instance if you can't afford  {Noble Hierarch} you can use  {Birds of Paradise}. You also don't have to use fetch lands because of their costs. Eventually you will upgrade your deck to amazballs status and kick everyone's ass
