Is {Black Vise} a good card? Why?

Well, I had originally thought this card didn't have to target anyone, I thought it said that all opponents had this happen to them.  Which in a 1v1 setting, doesn't matter.  But it makes my commander deck sad, so I can't play it because people will think I'm targeting.

Anyway, the card itself is a situational card the works best on turn 1, not so much on turn 3.  Against an RDW and robots, it is bad, because they empty their hands fast.  Against control players, it is considerablely better.

Running this in my mono{B} EDH Deck. I run it with the first, two cards, and looking for a {Rack} to finish out my combo.

Against some decks it is pretty good. Especially with cards like {Sphinx's Revelation} running around. Altogether though, I don't think it is a good card.

This used to be good back in the day.  You used to be able to run a 40 card deck.  Swamp, dark ritual into 3 of them on turn one.  You could kill in 2-3 turns.

Paired with the rack is hilarious

In EDH, it's hilarious t1 of you go first in multiplayer

It's also super deadly. You can get several out t1.

I always liked using the vice in a land destruction deck with Howling Mine. Annoyed the crap out of people

Paired with {the rack} it is fun

I never really liked both at the same time. Sounded good, yeah it worked, but each had their place. Around Ice Age I had a mono black discard deck that was lovely with four racks. Hymn, hippies, dark rituals, fun stuff like that.
