yes. Please. One of the more intriguing rules encounters I've had in a while though. I've actually never seen anyone play a double sided card as commander.

So I personally think that it should be able to be used in a non-black commander deck, because the flip side that has the demon has no CMC, plus it doesn't state that its black ( like {Pact of Negation} says its blue).

It does "State" it's black. The little black orb before "Creature - Demon" means "This permanent is black"

What about {Grimoire of the Dead}? is that thing's colour Identity black too?

no. It itself is not black, but only colorless. It's color identity (and please don't mind the paraphrase, I'm too lazy to find the actual rule) is made up of the mana symbols found on the card. Mana cost and activated abilities are examples. This card produces black creatures, not that it is black.
