It would be great if I could use artisan more often, but I'm not sure how to use it.

When it copies a creature, does it copy the targeted creature's abilities e.g. rules text, power/toughness, cmc, etc?
Does Artisan turns into a card with the same color as the targeted creature's color? What exactly does it copy?

I was thinking to use Artisan to copy a white creature then target a {Mistcutter Hydra} since Artisan would turn into a white creature or something like that.
