Or to be a stinker play an {opalescence} and equip the {manabarbs} with a lifelink card like {basilisk collar}
Course you could expand it to include creatures by also having an {ætherflash} in play equipped with the {basilisk collar} and a  {Light of Sanction} in play

Thats the point. It allows you to tap out without taking damage from mandabarbs on your turn so you dont take damage from the citadel.  Your opponents are going to take damage either way.

Thats the point. It allows you to tap out without taking damage from mandabarbs on your turn so you dont take damage from the citadel.  Your opponents are going to take damage either way.

And you would be taking damage if you had need of tapping any lands you control outside of your turn, thus the armor...
