I like my two-for-one abilities. Sheoldred is a perfect example of that. Yes, I realise that Reya would be closer themed, but I like shutting down what my opponents can do. That's also why I have Iona in there. XD

NO!! JUST NO!! EDH HAS NO ROOM FOR IONA!!!! Lol obviously jk but she can be a b**** lol

xStrayKnightx

EDH has ALL THE ROOM for Iona. XD
I was playing a multiplayer Commander game last week, and I was up against two Grixis decks (one {Thraximundar} and the other {Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge}) and an Esper (running {Oloro, Ageless Ascetic}). Flashed Iona in with Kaalia, shut down Black, won game. XD

Oh, if I'm being pestered by a particular colour, I make it my mission to deny that colour to my enemies.

That's why its good to have awnsers from all colors

xStrayKnightx

Not everyone has that mindset though. And if you don't draw/can't cast/are unable to tutor for the removal of Iona, she trolls everyone but me.

Mattao19

I play 5-colour in EDH so ill be fine lol

xStrayKnightx

Maelstrom or tri-colour decks usually go okay against Iona when I get her out, unless I shut down a colour they rely on, like this guy's Grixis Zombie deck that rivals me a fair bit. Large dose of Black. XD

If there's a more or less even mix of colours, then a deck goes fine against me. Otherwise they flounder a bit.

You know what's great about 5 color EDH? No one ever says the words "Iona, declaring the color RED."

Iona is annoying, but easy to predict and work around ;)

xStrayKnightx

In my experience, Iona's only been worked around if they've gone through the deck first. Otherwise they get smashed by her, and find it difficult to deal with it.

And if she doesn't work the first time, I flicker her and choose a different colour. XD

DirtyMustachio

Oh yeah well ill just play my iona first and call white nyah!

Reya is great, can be "cheated in" with Kaalia, and looks AMAZING in her super-foil promo, but she's still not as nasty as Sheoldred. Sheoldred has the lower mana cost, higher power, and the insane sacrifice ability.

Reya's the kind of girl you bring home to meet your parents. Sheoldred is the kind of girl you meet backstage at a megadeth concert. Both awesome. But oh so different.
