Land Destruction/Discard/creature control

I've been facing a good amount of blue/white, green/white, blue/green/white in Friday Night Magic lately that seems to be based on getting large amounts of mana very quickly. I want to combat this with a red/black land destruction/discard deck, using mind rot, encroaching waste, demolish. I want more options and suggestions. What do you think?

I played against a Gruul deck like this he had Green for  {Bramblecrush}

Land destruction isn't that competitive in standard right now. Unless the simic, Azorius, and bant decks you're encountering arent very competitive as well, then by all means.

Try some type of mono green devotion, with {Sylvan Primordial}, the card mentioned in the above post, and possibly splash red so you can use {Peak Eruption} as a sideboard card.

I've used  {Contaminated Ground} with some success against {R}{W}. And it's cheap to get out.

I think Jund Land destruction is your best bet. I saw it last night and it was hilarious I still won but still I think he went 2-3 so not awful

This guy played a gruul land destr deck against me last night.

Turn 3 blowing up lands is very frustrating, but I also have enough 2-3 drop creatures and shocks in my deck to allow me rush him.

My removal stopped all his creatures

And land destro people: {lolly troll} owns you strat

Don't want me to cast my creatures? Ok discard 4 of them. Lolly troll!😜


I feel like the best way for a land destro to survive is plenty of chumps and then a bomb since you're spending turns 3-6 blowing up land (reduce opponent to one or two mana )

But you need plenty of removal or like 4 fogs and other prevent damage cards

I agree jund is the way to go

Black (has land enchants that are cheap and annoyong & also all of your creature removal, plus desecration demon (cheap bomb, faster than stormbreath IMO)

thanks for the advice, I'm hoping the mono black deck I mentioned in a previous topic is going to do the trick
