So, with the new mechanic devotion, when it is tied to an ETB effect, does it take into count the creature as well? For example, you have a {daggerdrome imp} in play and cast {gray merchant of asphodel}, do I drain for 1 or 3?

You will drain 3. They count their own mana costs as part of the devotion.
