Hey Guys, I want to go to a sealed PTQ event to test my luck. Is there any advice that you guys can give? My PTQ isn't until a couple of weeks but I want to get some practice and tips!
Thanks everyone!!

What set? I assume m14?

Sealed is kind of tough to say, as it's the most difficult format to give advice for, due to it having more to do with the randomness of opening 6 packs, no drafting, on the spot and building with them. But here's the advice I can give.

1) 40 card deck. 23 spells, 17 land. I usually aim for 15-18 creatures out of those 23 spells (ideally, and depending on what I pull).

2) Stick with 2 colors. It can be tempting to run 3 in sealed sometimes, but it's almost never worth the mana inconsistency.

3) if you open good removal, USE IT! It's worth playing black as a secondary color, even if your black is not very strong aside from 2 doom blades and a liturgy of blood. Those cards will win games for you.

4) 2, 3, and 4 mana cost creatures are going to do the most work for you. Unless it's an insane mythic bomb, if you're stuck deciding between a 6-drop and a 3-drop, it's usually better to include the 3 drop, even though the 6 drop appears stronger.

Also remember that sealed is slower than normal games. Where as in standard the game could end turn 3-4 many sealed games go 6-10 turns so make sure your deck is able to compete in late game.

Thanks guys! My normal strategy in sealed is to play 2-3 CMC cards bc I absolutely hate getting mana screwed
