Ok I thought I bought out the adds but at the bottom of the gathering topic page there is an add. Any ideas

BlackJester

Often when I open Gathering, the page will be blank except for the ad.

Technically the ad is on iMtG Server not in iMtG, but I'll think about it.

As far as I'm concerned, our current provider sucks an we need to upgrade to VPS. We will see if ads are enough to cover the costs.

It fixes itself once I hit the home button. Just thought I'd mention it.

😳 I don't think I've ever seen an ad...?

Mentonin

It's on the bottom of the forum. I "have it all", and am also seeing the ad...

Piotr

The jury is still out on this one. As I said, technically the ads displayed in Gathering are not part of iMtG so that's why No Ads and I Have It All purchases will not stop them from being displayed, at the moment. That's why you see it. But, I hear you and I'm deciding whether it is right to display it.

cltrn81

I noticed it to but was not a big deal.  If you profit from it then cool if not then 💣 IMHO.

Piotr

I do profit but it seems to be insignificant so far.

I'm a little concerned by how this might look to users that did pay for no advertising.  I think they'll either believe that they paid no to have ads at all, or that you are using some sort of loop-hole to get more money.  I don't think that is the situation, but I can see how some users might.  Is there any way to make it more obvious?  I like the idea of generating more revenue to upgrade the servers, but I've worried about the loss of goodwill.  :-\

Piotr

Yes, the Gathering is not a stand-alone entity yet, not in an obvious enough way at least. I'll let the ad run for a few more days to get a reasonable view on the potential revenue, and then decide whether it's worth the time to code a Gathering ad filter into iMtG for No Ads users or just remove the ad for everyone. I won't be doing anything about the ads on 3rd party sites to which you link here ;)

Removed. Not even 2 pounds ;)

BlackJester

I clicked on it a couple of times.   ;)

the ad was kinda hidden in the forum(it was behind the bottom menu), so maybe there is a reason for low profit...
