Never played EDH before but I am building a deck now. I know the very basics (singleton deck, command zone, add {2} to cast it each time it dies) but would like to know of any more complex rules that I should be aware of before playing. I am also posting a deck that I found online that I am trying to build, comments are welcome. I am on a budget but if need be I will just just say .love. it and shell out the $250 it will cost to finish the deck. Trades are also welcome, everything I need is in my trade binder under "Esper Artifact EDH" and the Trade Binder is pretty big and I will be adding more.

If a player is dealt 21+ damage by a single Commander, they lose to commander damage.

If a Commander is destroyed, whether by combat damage or a spell, or exiled, it simply goes back to the Commader Zone.

But you can kind of get rid of it for a little while by using cards that send a Commander either back to its owner's Library or hand.

Actually you can keep in the graveyard or in exile. You can return it to command zone at any time. Opponents can also force it out. I don't have anything to cite this, so if anyone can find that for me...

The stickies up top are full of very important for you. Anything about the format itself you can find at www.mtgcommander.net, the official commander site, which has all of the official rules and restrictions (most of which I'd not all are in the stickies)

Sidenote: The great thing about Commander is that it's casual play :) so you can change the rules depending on who you're playing with. That's why I love EDH so much.
