New to modern

Hi guys, I am beginning to work on my first modern deck. I am going to play Bant with {Aerherling} and was wondering if you all could get me started with some card suggestions?

Probably going for Bant control. But I am open to other options.

{AEtherling} is an aggro style blue card in my opinion.  A good card in an illusion type deck, it is a great finisher.

You're gonna need some great control or ramp; Modern tends to be a five-turn format

I'd disagree. It depends on the deck, the gameplay is definitely a lot faster than Standard though. I guess at high levels it gets pretty close to that though.
