Notes:
This is my first real attempt at a control deck. I looked at builds and kind of made it my own with cards I liked. I haven't tested this particular build yet, although I've tested one similar and it's pretty good. I will take any suggestions.

I'd put in another  {Obzedat, Ghost Council} instead of Sorin

I think I'll do that. Then take sands of delirium out of sideboard and put sorin in there instead.

Render silents > dissipate in my opinion. I understand the exile thing, but if I cancel they're first spell and they're planning on casting more..? It shuts then down. But...

-2 {psychic strike}
-1 {dimwit charm}
-1 {far // away}

+2 {supreme verdict}
+2 {dissipate}

(Plus the Obzedot for sorin switch mentioned above.)

How's that look?

All-Mana Mania

That looks much better, maybe a merciless eviction if you dont have creatures

All-Mana Mania

Mainboarded i meant lol. And def drop 1 blind obediance. And put the one in mainboard

{Warped Physique} is the best removal spell esper has available. I also run one {Renounce the Guilds} main and it always does good stuff. I actually like {Dimir Charm}, but three may be too many.

Here's my take on {Render Silent}: late game counterspell only. The only decks that can play multiple spells early are super aggro decks, and that's what wrath effects are for, not counters. Right now it's basically a harder to cast {Cancel}. I think {Syncopate} is pretty good right now since it lets you counter a turn two play from almost any deck. It does, admittedly, get worse later though.

Ive been moving away from wrath effects as of late. Too many decks are resilient against them right now. I still have three verdicts and a {Planar Cleansing} but I've moved heavily towards more spot removal, and I've seen significantly improved results.
{Syncopate} is a good choice. IMO though, it's only good on the play. Because if they can get voice out turn two an you have 1 mana it's not good. But if your on the play and they try playing voice. Oops, it's gone.

I could honestly do without the dimir charms but I just like the idea of looking at what they have coming and pretty saying "yea, that's not going to happen". So if I:
-2 dimir charms
+2 warped physiques..?

You think (total):
2 render silents and
2 dissipate?

I could take the spot from the render silent and add in another far // away or a third warped physique?

Also I'm prolly going to change the solo plains into a solo island, I have a lot of blue.

I'd say you're good to keep one or two {Dimir Charm}, and two {Warped Physique} is good.  I run three but it's your deck and you'll find what's best for you.  I've always used charm as a removal spell and occasionally a counter, though I have on occassion charmed myself EOT to dig for something.  Agreed that {Syncopate} is way better on the play for the reasons mentioned above.  For that reason I often side a couple out if I take game one.

I know it's obvious, but I'll say it anyway...TEST!  Play the crap out of your deck.  You'll figure out which cards don't do enough and which cards you want all the time.  Control is all about keeping your options open and tweaking your deck to make sure you always have answers to the matchups you expect to play.  Have fun!

Thanks for the advice. I've been wanting to test so bad but unfortunatly I don't really know many people that play. My lgs has tournaments and that's about the only practice I get. If there's no tournament there's usually noone up there.
