I believe it is because he still controls the equipment even though it is on a creature you now control. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

MementoMori

You control the creature, but your opponent still controls the Spear. Because the effect creating the angel comes from the spear, your opponent gets the token.

Say you stole the creature and attached an artifact on it, when you give it back the artifact would go with it right?  And if so, could you unequip it when it's on your opponents side of the field?

I know I could just unequip it at the end of my turn, I'm just curious
Same deal here. The creature itself would get any bonuses from the equipment, but you still control it. You would be able to re-equip it to another creature if you wish.

Rule 301.5d explains very clearly the relationship between the creature and the equipment in regards to its controller and if it changes :)

See below:

301.5d An Equipment's controller is separate from the equipped creature's controller; the two need not be the same. Changing control of the creature doesn't change control of the Equipment, and vice versa. Only the Equipment's controller can activate its abilities. However, if the Equipment grants an ability to the equipped creature (with "gains" or "has"), the equipped creature's controller is the only one who can activate that ability.

What if its and enchantment that gives tokens. Not an equipment. Does the opponent still get it

That would depend on the wording of the enchantment.

Kaleo42

When it puts an ability in quotes it means the creature has the ability and therefore it's controller gains control of it. No quotes or words such as "has" or "gains" means the enchantment's controller has control of the ability.

I just want to make sure I have this right. If I played  {Act of Treason} on an opponent's creature that was enchanted with  {Ethereal Armor} the armour woul still be looking at my opponent's enchantments to deteime the amount of boost correct?
