Hey guys, today I'm going to attempt a deck tech on modern Simic deck. It's a fun deck, and I just want to try this out.

Simic

60 cards, 0 sideboard

4 {Hinterland Harbor}
1 {Alchemist's Refuge}
9 {Forest}
6 {Island}
4 {Breeding Pool}
23 lands

3 {Vorel of the Hull Clade}
1 {Primordial Hydra}
3 {Craterhoof Behemoth}
2 {Simic Manipulator}
3 {Birds of Paradise}
1 {Progenitor Mimic}
4 {Gyre Sage}
1 {Simic Sky Swallower}
3 {Cytoplast Root-Kin}
1 {Experiment Kraj}
4 {Master Biomancer}
2 {Prime Speaker Zegana}
3 {Cytoplast Manipulator}
32 creatures

3 {Farseek}
1 {Mystic Genesis}
1 {Unexpected Results}
5 other spells

Sideboard

ALCHEMIST'S REFUGE
Not the most important part of the deck, it's just nice if I have 3 extra mana to flash something in.

VOREL OF THE HULL CLADE
An Important part of the deck, can DOUBLE any type of counters, but, we all know they're just going to be +1/+1 counters.

PRIMORDIAL HYDRA
See above. Has great synergy with Vorel, and also with {Experiment Kraj}, and he just gets out of hand quickly.

CRATERHOOF BEHEMOTH
In a ramp deck, he's nice to have, can act as a win-con, and goes well with Master Biomancer.

SIMIC MANIPULATOR
Helps with those pesky {Boros Reckoners} and {Voice of Resurgences}, and has great synergy with Master Biomancer.

BIRDS OF PARADISE
Synergy with Master Biomancer (can I say it enough?) and acts as a quick mana source.

PROGENITOR MIMIC
Good synergy with the Biomancer (again) and Prime Speaker for extra card draw. Was put in to copy a creature with insane amounts of +1/+1 counters.

GYRE SAGE
Everything starting now has good synergy with the Biomancer, so I'm just not going to say it anymore. But Gyre Sage is a major part of my ramp scheme.

SIMIC SKY SWALLOWER
Supposed to be a target for Unexpected Results or just a win-con that's difficult to get rid of.

CYTOPLAST ROOT-KIN
A nice 4/4 for that helps with the Sky Swallower and Biomancer, but to put counters ON the Biomancer this time.

EXPERIMENT KRAJ
Who doesn't want a card that has all of your others cards abilities. *cough* Simic Sy Swallower, Master Biomancer, Simic Manipulator. And just about everything else

MASTER BIOMANCER
We're here! This dude is the glue that holds this deck together. 1 of him out, you're already doing great, but 4 out, and you're unstoppable. Has synergy with the entire deck, but mostly Prime Speaker and Experiment Kraj, and, of course, himself!

PRIME SPEAKER ZEGANA
A good card draw outlet, as well as something that can just get huge the turn it comes out *cough*MasterBiomancer*cough*

CYTOPLAST MANIPULATOR
Like the Simic Manipulator, but an easier way to get bigger creatures on my side.

FARSEEK
How else will I get my Breeding Pools?

MYSTIC GENESIS
Go ahead, play {Omniscience}

UNEXPECTED RESULTS
Hey, you'd want to get out Craterhoof Behemoth an Simic Sky Swallower turn 4 too if you were me.

And that wraps up my first deck tech, hope you guys enjoyed!

Have you thought about  {Doubling Season} that with the hydra, tap 5 for x and he gets 10 counters. Next turn that'd be 20 counters

Well, I have this deck in modern, could you post this there? I like the suggestion, I'd just more like to see what people think of my Deck Tech on this thread

 If you dropCyto, and paradise this would be standard

And the Kraj, and the rootkin, and the skyswallower. Hunter is right, this could easily become a standard deck but I also think it works great as modern. Granted, I play mostly modern, but there is such a richness of {U}{G} from the original ravnica block that modern seems a perfect format for this deck.

I mostly use this for modern because, this is my favorite deck so far, and I never want to say "well, rotation is here, let's take all these cards out that I spent lots of money on and really like. Oh well"

Is modern still the format they use?
