If my opponent has the {Melira, Sylvok Outcast}+ {Kitchen Finks} + {Viscera Seer} combo and I have infinite turns and an unblockable shroud {Grave Titan} in the board and no cards but a  {Beacon of Tomorrows} left in my library and hand, what happens? There is no way for te game to progress as each time I deal damage, he gains infinite life in response to me going to attacks, enough to survive the attack each time. This can't be a draw, can it? If not, what is it?

This is commander, if that matters.

Since it's not a true "loop" (104.04b) it depends on how stubborn either of you are... 😜

If it's a tournament, you may agree to an intentional draw, per 104.04i.

If it's casual play, you could both call it a draw.

Or, both of you could sit there till one of you caves in and concedes, per 104.03a.

Thanks!

Something to think about:

Since you're the one casting spells, chances are your arms will wear out long before he gives up. I advise heavily against waiting him out... 😁

If you're in a tournament, and you are both super stubborn, the silly thing is that the Grave Titan will eventually win if there is enough time (which there isn't) and no answers/removal in either players' decks.

In tournament play, unlimited combos like the one in play with Melira are given a set limit of times per turn they can be used, usually 1000. This is to prevent stall-out, and letting players do voluntary draw-outs in the way that 3 {Oblivion ring}s with no other valid targets does involuntarily.

Now what this means is that each turn, the Melira player can gain 2000 life.

Each attack of the Grave titan player will = 6 damage, plus 2 per zombie. Each attack he gains 2 zombies. After 1000 attacks, the number of zombies will be able to out damage the 2000 life gain per turn, and start chipping away at the approximately-1,000,000 life that the Melira player has accumulated at this point.

Long story short, the Melira player will get really mad.

Thts a stupid ruling because infinite combos are infinite. It should be a draw if the game cannot progress.

It kinda makes sense. On a mathematical perspective, the number of attackers will continue to increase infinitely, whereas the number of sacrifices available will remain constant.

If you were required to carry out each action, the turn time limit would hose the infinite life player. Eventually, they can't sacrifice enough times to keep up.
Valid point
