I have a question about miracle cards.  The wording says you may play it for its miracle cost WHEN you draw it if its the first card you drew this turn.

So I think that you have no time to do anything else between when you draw it and when you cast it for its miracle.

Ex.  First turn with no mana out.  You draw thunderous wrath, miracle cost 1M. You cannot put down a mountain and then play thunderous wrath, because you must play it the second you draw it.

Am I correct?

This is correct. If you wish to cast it for its miracle cost, you must reveal it and cast it immediately. You do not have time to play a land first.

A card that could help with miracle is {brainstorm}

Slight clarification. Miracle is a trigger. If you draw it you may reveal it and it gains an alternate casting cost. You may respond to the trigger itself say with a {lotus petal} at instant speed using {leyline of anticipation} allowing you to cast that card before you have played a land.
