If we're talking about he proof go with the guile. Vines doesn't even give hexproof😆. In fact it gives something even better than hexproof.

You mean Hexproof? Lol, that is the exact errata for Hexproof. It just didn't exist back then.

EDIT: Wow, I retract my previous statement, it is not Hexproof! What the heck? What's the difference?

Before hexproof was a keyword.
Anywho vines protects you from {Glaring Spotlight} and such. I guess it's the only difference.

MisterJH

Its kind of unfair that the spotlight doesnt work, because it just hadnt had a name yet. There should be a ruling that fixed this, because the creature truly does have hexproof under the vines

Fenster

I feel like its kind of a "Meh!" deal.
There are better ways to deal with hexproof than the spotlight. Albeit the spotlight is effective just rather limited in use.

And also wrong they go back and errata cards to have hexproof if they do in fact have it. {thrun the last troll} {asceticism} {troll ascetic} etc.

The difference is if you target an opponent's creature with your vines, the opponent can still not target it, and you still can. Giving it hexproof would go the other way around. Why is this better? Vines stops decks like kikki jiki, infect combo, and other creature based decks.

Oh holy .poo.... I like that a lot!
Damn I didn't even think about that! That's beautiful!

toastani

that does make vines quite the card. This is barely relevant, but lingering in my mind after reading this thread is the fact that shroud prevents all forms of targeting. Meh
