So I go a scavenge deck...I use Golgari keyrune to attack myself and was wondering if I can block it with one of my creatures?

You can never attack yourself. Only an opponent.
When was that rule changed last I looked while was like 1 year ago you could attack yourself

Gorzo

You can hit yourself with spells and abilities that say "target player" but not spells or abilities that say "target opponent," and you can never attack yourself with a creature in combat.

Itd be too easy to make broken combos with lifelink, cards that get bonuses for dealing combat damage, the card that lets you win if you have 1 life etcccxx

Mikefrompluto

Hahah imagine the hell that would break loose if you could attack yourself. Insanity.

MisterJH

{rhox faithmender} + lifelink... {gisela, somethig something} the one that halves damage dealt to you(i think) + lifelink.. Uber life
