With cards like {chromatic sphere},{ izzet broiler works}, and {nivix aerie of the firemind}. When you use their ability to add 1 mana to your mana pool, do you search the deck for mana or do you use the card itself as the mana?

When a card adds mana to your mana pool, you do not search your library. The cards you mentioned simply add mana to your mana pool, which you can use to cast spells. No library searching involved.

Further clarification, I think you were getting lands mixed up with mana. Lands are permanents that produce mana.
