Start with {sharuum, the hegemon} on the battlefield. Have enough mana to cast {phyrexian metamorph} (or other artifact clone) and {bitter ordeal} metamorphic target sharuum. ETB effect goes on stack. Both sharuum and metamorph die. Bring back sharuum targeting metamorph with her ability. Rinse and repeat. After you chose an absurd number for the loop, end it and cast ordeal. Say gg to your opponent.

Wouldn't both artifact creatures be sacrificed at the same time, thus negating both the sphinx and metamorph ability?

That's what I thought at first, but the combo really does work. Sharuum is very abused for this very reason, and is really commonly used with {Disciple of the Vault} for infinite damage.

Sorry if I'm not getting it guys but hunh??? How does this work?

Wackaman9001

Sphinx is on field.
1.Cast metamorph, copy sphinx, State sees 2 legends of same name, kills both.
2.ETB hits stack, choose sphinx.
3.Sphinx ETB, target metamorph.
4.Repeat step 1

How do you figure the come into play effect of the clone? Since it does not have the sphinx's ability when it comes into play, only gaining it when it is in play.

It enters as the sphinx not enter and then becomes the sphinx. According to your logic all {clone} creatures would die to 0 toughness before they could become another card.

Um ok. It's a combo. That's about it lol
