First Transformers, and then ninja turtles. What will Michael Bay ruin next?

The way I see it, childhood cartoons aren't really a sacred cow. When Michael Bay abuses the franchise, at least I'll get some great action sequences with million dollar special effects. Who wouldn't want to see Raph kick posterior in high def tediously rendered cg sweetness?

Where did you find out?

This is what happens when you go see remakes and comic book movies. They just repackage and sell your childhood back to you. Perpetual adolescence.

I'm not seeing an issue here.

A user, a while back, said the best quote regarding this ever. I will requote it to you.

I really feel like Michael Bay should make movies for toddlers instead of ruining childhood franchises. His movies fit all the criteria to keep young ones entertained.

1. Shallow plots that don't require good comprehension skills.

2. Lots of bright lights, colors, and action to stimulate young minds.

3. Good vs. Evil and Good always wins.

4. Characters have a small vocabulary with small words and simple sentence structure.

5. Characters that are relatable to toddlers.

Well...what about TMNT isn't already for children? Just because it meant something to you as a child means Hollywood can get more of your money as an adult. If people didn't go see these movies they wouldn't make them.

Edit: (long winded edition)
Unfortunately Hollywood is not a democracy, the only recourse you have as a consumer is to not purchase the product. Don't like the TMNT movie? Don't see it. Don't like Transformers cash in? Don't see it. Tired of Spider-Man/Superman/X-men reboots and sequels? Don't see em.

Movies don't get a lot of time to make their money back, and since movies are competing with so many forms of media (cable, video on demand, the Internet) they need to keep pushing recognizable brands in order to make money off those fans. They made a Three Stooges film...you can go back and watch the Three Stooges films they actually made. Give it a couple of years, they'll make a Magic the Gathering film, a My Little Pony Movie and a "Slap Chop" ™ movie, anything to make a buck.
