What makes it so good is its use in legacy. Most of the best cards in legacy is 3 or less. The fact it can't be {force of will}ed. In modern it stops a lot of the best creatures and equipment. It makes Jund so much better. In standard it stops a lot of the early game. Standard is where it is at its weakest though.
