Izzet help

Quick my buddy is playing Izzet and he's not up on all the guilds and just picked colors. What are the big things for Izzet. Got about an hour till start.
I'm playing Selysian so I wasn't paying attention to Izzet.

Play spells, attack with creatures, kill your opponent until he's dead. GG.

Burn, draw, quick damage. Control throu return to hand etc. Instants and sorceries.
Im not into stratagems for the prerelease limited so someone else might know more.

Cyclonic rift is a bomb helped me win a few games.  Only ever saw my hypersonic dragon once out of 5 matches and he got destroyed immediately.  I kept tweaking and tuning throughtout the event.  I really regret not splashing black for the dreadbore I pulled.  With Izzet guildmage that'd be 2 dead creatures for 6 mana
