Just saw the episode myself. I thought "you've gotta be kidding me..." when I saw 3 of the Power 9 in that lot... And he was only offered $700 for everything.

Those people did get ripped off, but I think that's part of the drama of the show. They were savvy enough to identify those extremely rare cards, but not savvy enough to get at least 1/4th what they're worth? Unlikely.

Definitely wasn't staged for the show. The guy who found them is a total moron. He had no idea what they were worth and probably would have taken $100 if that's all he was offered.

He is not a moron for not knowing what they are worth....he does not play magic.  Now he is an idiot for not googling prices of the cards once he found out which ones are the money cards.

I'm not insinuating that he is a moron for not knowing the card prices. Anyone who watches the show on a regular basis knows that his iq can't be much above 40.
