I wasn't around for the original Ravnica, so in preperation for RTR, can someone explain the guilds? Can you list what colors they include, the story behind them, and what "theme" (i heard Golgari was graveyard). RTR is going to be my first pre-release, since I've never played competitively before.

I've never been to any FNM or prereleases, or even any competive tournaments. I really just play with my friends currently. Whats the difference between prereleases and other tournaments?

And also, on youtube Wizards said that at the prerelease, they give you one "Guild-pack" of your choice, and then a box with 6 RTR packs.

Search wizardsmtg, thier 2nd to latest video says that in the middle somewhere i think. Idk, maybe its another video.

Btw the sticky at the top about color combinations/names has all of the guilds listed by their 2 colors and name.

He's not the "Guild Leader".  You'll get the guy from the Duel Decks.

Azorius is the W/U guild and is focused on law and bureaucracy.
Dimir is the U/B guild and is focused on milling and secrets.
Rakdos is the R/B guild and is focused on hedonism and killing.
Gruul is the R/G guild and is focused on rage and chaos.
Selesnya is the G/W guild and is focused on community and tokens.
Orzhov is the W/B guild and is focused on money and ghosts.
Simic is the U/G guild and is focused on +1/+1 counters and mutating.
Izzet is the R/U guild and is focused on casting spells and creativity.
Golgari is the B/G guild and is focused on rebirth and +1/+1 counters.
Boros is the R/W guild and is focused on enforcing the law and weenies.
