Do basic lands count as the colored permanent or are they a colorless permanent? Like would forest be a green permanent?

I've been looking for the rule that says basic land are colorless but I can't find it.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

202.2. An object is the color or colors of the mana symbols in its mana cost, regardless of the color of its frame.

No cost and no color indicator, no color.
