My 3rd FNM

Soo...went to my 3rd FNM tonight with my lone standard deck: Junk ramp. Was happy because I placed 2nd! I never had to muligan. There were 16 people so four rounds. But anyways, here is what happened:

First round I played was against a kid. He ran a token deck that featured some lifegain, {Day of Judgement} and {Angelic Destiny}. The first game he basically did nothing but place lands while I ramped his face into the ground. Second game I also won.

Second round I faced none other than a zombie deck! I had always wanted to face one of these and I got to. The first game was close. His {Geralf's Messenger} and 2 {Blood Artist}s almost killed me. But at last, the ramp prevailed! I won at 3 life.
The second game was a surprise. I was down to 4 life and he was at 11. I had {Champion of Lambholt} out along with 2 spirit tokens, a 3/3 beast, {Garruk Primal Hunter} out, and a lingering souls in the graveyard. I had sorin LoI in my hand along with another souls. The champion was a 4/4. Next turn I was going to win. The only way he could win was stealing my lambholt and killing my with it. And that is exactly what he did. Grr.
Third game worked my way once again. At the end I had sigarda, 2 vorapedes, and garruk out on the field.

Third round I faced BUW control. And the first game was the one game that made me mad. I had 4 sorin emblems out. FOUR emblems!!! And he was at 4 life. FOUR LIFE!!!! AND I HAD 30 LIFE. To make a VERY long story short, I lost this game. Here is my advice to everyone: No matter how much you are winning by, DO NOT TOY WITH CONTROL. If you face control, kill it as fast as possible. The longer the game goes, the better this type of deck gets.
Second game I won with high anger.
Third game I also won with a high level of anger. I had learned my lesson. Now I taught him a lesson. Thank you, garruk. Thank you sigarda. Sexy, hexproof sigarda.

Now was the time for 1st place. Just one game away! The guy I faced was the guy that destroyed me last time with his wolf run ramp. He offered to draw and split the packs (5 each). I said sure. Better 5 packs than 4 for second place (winner gets 10). So that's how it went. Since he lost less games than I did, he got 1st place and I got 2nd.

...and this brings me to the round that never happened yet the round that made me the angriest. We played against eachother after we turned in the tie game. I KICKED HIS ASS TWO GAMES IN A ROW. Ya know why? Because he was playing this weird BWU control/creature deck that my deck could demolish any day. Oh well. 2nd is good enough for me, knowing I could have won 1st.

I didn't get anything super amazing in my packs (3 innistrad 2 avacyn)...but you won't see me complaining. Free cards? YES PLEASE! And I got a special looking {Acidic Slime} to boot!

So that ends my 3rd FNM. Next time maybe I can place 1st and maybe by then I'll have a real sideboard. lol

Dude...that sucks. I would go crazy because fnm is the only chance I get to play people for real (not wall games). Plus it would be REALLY hot with the air conditioning out...
