-what about the activation of {birthing pod} on my opponents side of the field?

The card seems amazing I wonder why it doesn't see much use

no and no cus one targets spells and the other doesn't target at all

Spellskite can't redirect things that couldn't legally target it. Mana leak must target a spell. Birthing pod doesn't target anything.
