This is a nice list. R/w is explosive when it turns on. Only change I'd make is adding {silver blade paladin} (nothing is more of a slap in the face then dropping this guy leaving him unpaired only to zealous next turn and pair with your opponents creature!) and or {Mirran crusader} of course.
Can't soulbound to their creature unless you play paladin the same turn as zealous conscripts sorry :/
I like using {lightning mauler} with the paladin though! It's awesome!

Not so sure about that....  If the paladin isn't paired zealous comes down steals a creature. That creature has just entered the battlefield under your control hence it should be able to be paired to the paladin. End of turn the stolen creature goes back leaving the paladin ready to be paired again.
It's says enters the battlefield not under your control so I don't think it could work unless you could steal the creature as its cast

What's the ruling on this?

I'm assuming you are talking about {Zealous Conscripts}.  Gaining control of something doesn't mean it left the battlefield and came back, otherwise stealing creatures would cause ETBs and they don't.  You'd need to flicker the creature.

You want a kick in the pills, {Cloudshift} the stolen creature to pair is with the Paladin and keep it until it dies.  XD
