I want to buy a case of booster boxes.
What set would reccommend and why?
From where?
Thank you

Rass

I wouldn't. If you want the best bang for your buck buy singles.

He could be doing drafts/limited or something.

I want to try to get into reselling boxes or selling magic and all of that mumbojumbo

Rass

Imo. Market is too saturated. Unless you try to open a shop or online shop and get boxes straight from the distributors you won't be able to beat prices online.

Singles are the best rout but long term go with sets that have fetch lands

ibtrickey

How can one guess what singles will boom in price though

redwolv

Its tough. Basicly any rare/mythic which sees large amounts of play in multiple formations. Honestly trying to play the market to make a quick buck it next to impossible. That is why most shops buy at a lower price then tcg. If your smart you can buy stuff like fetchs, shocks, etc. and wait for te price to slowly tick up.

For major price swings you have about as good a chance of a price boom as a price drop. Sure if you play smart you can maybe get those odds to shift in your favor some but not much.

This guy knows what he is saying. Short of being a shop owner you won't be making much profit.

If you figure that out you can put star city games out of business

I'll point you to /r/MTGFinance and the Brainstorm Brewery podcsst.

Themugz

Eh mtg finance channels are iffy
You get loaded info that gets you to buy in on hype

Look at metas
Look at what's winning
What will counter those decks?

I loaded up on languishes before soi came out

Now I profit

Ephiphamy at the drownyard is an easy dollar
To the slaughter is $2
Sin prodder $2
(Low buy prices)
These are my specs at the moment

Why?

Epiphany - it's really good, you set the piles and more mana means more cards, it's also X+ 1 so even at 2 mana EOT: you keep your clash of wills up or another counter and when they don't cast a spell, EOT you get to dig thru your deck and if you're super clever you set up a pile to activate delirium

To the slaughter - instant speed sac, better than the dragon one, once delirium activated kills PW also
Which there are plenty of in current meta
Our other options for PW removal: anguished unmaking (requires orzhov) and ruinous path (sorcery speed)

If eldritch moon has no PW removal that will be the best due to instant speed - remember how heroes downfall hit $15 a few times?

Sin prodder: uh 3 mana for 3/2 that has menace and BObs for you but hurts your opponent instead of you? Seems reeeeally good, mardu PW decks love this card, this will be a modern card imo for grixis, USA control decks (keranos, cryptic, etc)

I bought 10 sin prodders for 2.50 each- $35 is my investment
Same as a fat pack, sure I may not guarantee anything with 10 sin prodders, but I know what I'm getting
Pack cracking is gambling. I know because I bought my first Fatpack in years and got a Thalia's LT and that's it, not even one foil.

So reconsider cracking cases/boxes, better do to a low cost local draft (one near me is $11 per) and rare draft like a jerk. Make your money that way cracking packs, I always rare draft at drafts, I don't like wasting money to get beaten by terrible creatures with lame combat tricks, as I'm too used to consistentcy that constructed format gives us

I sold about $500 worth of cards this weekend for my dogs vet bills, those cards were all specific purchases or trades, not many were cracks.

seeing weenies as huge right now: I nabbed up 30 radiant flames for about $11 at .40 each. If it doesn't go anywhere for a year, I have 30 bulk cards and lost about $8 (after making $3 selling bulk) or it hits $2 low & I choose to sell then instead of waiting for it to rise more, now I made $50 after my initial $11 investment has been paid for.

So spec like that, not by cracking packs

Eldrazi mimic made me great gains

DirtyMustachio

I preordered 8 {declaration in stone} at 3$

Now my only regret was not preordering 500
