especially useful in EDH or 2HG, since you need 20+ life, and a bit of a boatload short of mana.

{eternity vessel}, cast at 20+ Life
Cast {darksteel reactor}, cast {dismantle} @ vessel. Win.

Are they any other cards other than {dismantle} that would cause the same effect?

Not with one card, but there is {coretapper}, {energy chamber} and  {Power Conduit} That could help.
