My friend (built his off of the intro) version uses {Deranged Assistant} for the constant flow of cards into graveyard, and {Spector Flight} for evasion. My version (built solely Innistrad / Dark Ascension block cards) includes 3of {Skaab Ruintor}, 4of {Dream Twist}; Ruintor is counterintuitive but serves as a option B if they cannot deal with a flyer after dealing with the eight core (4of each Wurm and Splinter), otherwise it is a body in the graveyard. We both include 3-4 of {Artful Dodge}, {Ambush Viper}, {Dawntreader Elk}, and {Wreath of Geist}. Idea is to have a powered up Wurm or Splinter and directly swing. Of course the problem we have is against control with bounce cards and exiling cards, otherwise we do not mind if they kill of a creature.

As for sideboard, {Autumn Veil} is definitely viable. If you have to, {Ranger's Guile} is good as well. Only issue I see is if they end up in your grave... (and you do not have a {Snapcaster Mage}) then you are a bit limited in protection. Perhaps a {Naturalize} if anyone uses a {Grafdigger's Cage} if you go flashback heavy. Since you run Birds, maybe (big maybe) use a {Fling} on those Ghoultree.

I would add some {Jace's Archivist} to mill yourself and make the power of kessig cagebreakes and splinter fright more effective.

Thanks for the replies.

Sagemaster have yøū played with a deck like this?

Armored skabb mills 4 for 3 mana and a blocker.

Trackers and forbidden alc mill 4 a piece. It's pretty quick. The only trouble I get is with quick decks, I need about 3-4 turns to get set up then I can usually flop some big boys down.

I don't see any way of being defensive and milling to stall the first couple turns. I'm totally screwed against flying too.

#4
{fog} for (G) keeps you alive from those pesky little buggers until you can get set up.

For the flyers for the same CMC. {ezuri's archers}

Neither help your milling but maybe will give you enough to get things moving.

Willthomjr

Like the archers.

Plus jace archiVist thanks guys

No I haven't haha but I read an article on one! Its on the wizards site in the budget decks section and I think it's called splinterfright and it looked pretty cool and like a lot of fun!

Willthomjr

Oh?

It's really fun when you get mirror mad out mill 20 cards and your splinter goes from 2/2 to 12/12! It relies heavily on gy and can get screwed with a nihil spellbomb. But it's a working deck for when scars cycles out.
